One hot summer afternoon, I was trying to write, but I just couldn't get inspired. I needed a break! Who would've thought that soon I'd be in Arizona, hanging from cliffs and white-water rafting?
Grandfather Shortpaws had sent me on a hunt for his old friend - the Red Bandit. What a fabumouse adventure!

We love Geronimo Stilton. Both my son and I just can't get enough of his crazy antics which are made all the more amusing because of his cowardly nature.
In this book Geronimo is sent off on a mission by his Grandfather Shortpaws, in search of his old friend the Red Bandit. Geronimo's cousin Trap decides to tag along and they quickly find themselves in Arizona where Geronimo ends up going on some extreme adventures in order to fulfil his grandfather's request.
I would say that this book is by far one of the most entertaining and action packed Geronimo Stilton books that we have read so far. It's full of hair-raising stunts, slap stick humour and situations that are positively laughable when you consider what a cowardly mouse Geronimo is.
I love all the illustrations and the differing fonts, colours and text sizes - they all help to keep my son interested particularly when we hit a slower patch in the story (which there aren't many of in this book). I also loved the extra little snippets of information about the area they were travelling to - even though my son wasn't all that interested, I'm always keen on learning about different places.
The chapters are a little on the long side but I didn't mind since the story itself was so entertaining. It's definitely a book that I can see us reading over and over again.
Another adventure with Geronimo Stilton at our place! My daughters were both delighted to listen to the adventures of our favourite cowardly editor. In this book, Geronimo is sent on a quest by his grandfather who is frankly quite a bully. Mind you, most of the family are pretty mean to Geronimo. Yet, he still always rises to the occasion even when he is shaking in his boots.
What I really liked about this book, was that aside from the adventure there were all these facts about the area they were traveling to. So we got to learn a bit about Arizona. As I have never traveled outside of Australasia, I find reading about other parts of the world fascinating. It seemed like a very hot place to be traveling and this was proven by a number of sticky incidents along the way.
Grandfather sent a gift with Geronimo for a friend of his. This gift was ridiculous. I have no idea what he was thinking, except to be very cruel. Poor Geronimo, I don't know why he puts up with it at all!
I loved the extreme tour guide as well. What disastrous adventures for a clumsy mouse to be going on. But those were the chapters that had my eldest laughing the most. I must admit that I smirked a bit too at his silliness. As always things work out, even if not quite as Geronimo hoped. He always gets a good story out of it no matter what the outcome. Another great value book from this collection. Under $15 for a book that lasts us a week of reading, is excellent.
