Tulip and Doug: A Spud-tacular Friendship StoryProduct reviews...
I've heard a lot about this series and seen a lot of hype about them but never read them, but saw this one up for review and thought that I would request one, because, well why not?
My eldest grabbed this and gave it a rather good look through, once he put it down my middle child swooped down on it and settled down on a bean bag, what followed gave the book a rather good enforcement. She took the time to look at each and every single page in great attention and then followed on to request each of the books advertised on the back page. Upon a trip to the library the kids saw a few of the series on display and promptly grabbed three of them begging me to take them home, so the series is a hit already.
The illustrations are fantastic and fit in really well with the story, there are plenty of pictures to go with the story line and there seems to be a perfect balance between the two. It took a bit of getting used to at first as some of the words are in different fonts and colors, but once I got used to it, it was easy enough to read and the kids have been loving the series.
This is a really fun book and I know we will be reading more in the series for sure.
The Geronimo Stilton series of books really are great for young readers, there are a few different series out now from the Cave Mice series, to the Thea Sisters series and this one the Creepella Series. The Creepella series takes a spooky ghost and bat type turn into their story lines which is quite cool for kids that like ghosts and ghouls. My girl has really enjoyed this book and others in the Creepella series.
The book has a simple story line with a mystery to be solved by Geronimo and Creepella as they investigate the disappearance of four girls into a rollercoaster. With the girls entering a rollercoaster but never emerging at the end Geronimo, Creepella and friends set off to investigate. But what they find is not what they were expecting and they soon restore some faith and friendships once more.
We meet a group of acrobatic fleas, and a hair dressing crab which was quite exciting and a little bit different, along with Creepella's side kick Bat wing a pet bat with a big attitude who is just a little bit cute so plenty of new characters to meet in this series. I love how the books have the illustrations so it brings the story to life for young readers. The illustrations are done so well with parts of the story told in the pictures. I always look at the pictures as I am reading to see facial expressions or little clues to the story/mystery.
One thing I wanted to read about which wasn't included was that they started to tell the tale of the feuding Rattenbaums and Cacklefur's and the Hazelnut tree but they never returned to the story to see where the last hazelnut fell and if the feud was ever settled. I don't know if this was supposed to be included but I wanted to see it mentioned at the end or something as it didn't seem right to have it in there if not to finish it off, just my opinion but one I thought I would mention.

k52 is a vast artificial intelligence with world domination on its mind.
If it succeeds in creating an artificial reality based on our own universe, it could gain enough data to allow it to alter reality itself, turning k52 into the ultimate arbiter of mankind's fate. It's down to Richards and Klein to stop k52.
