This is an amazing resource to have in the house, I have an artistic child who I thought would be the owner of this book, but it has become a well used resource for all the family.

What I really like about it, is the process they use means anyone can produce amazing drawings, my children were all so proud of the amazing pictures they created.

Klutz have formed a reputation based around producing complete creative kits that are attractive, and packed with hours of fun, and this kit ticks all those boxes.

I would recommend this as a product to buy for your home, to keep the kids amused for days, and also for a present for that child you just don't know what to buy.

This is a winner in our house not just for Miss Five but mum and dad as well. This kit is about as basic as a step-by-step drawing book can be. Page four gives instructions how to use the book. 1 - pull the book out so its a drawing pad. 2 - Remove the pouch with the pencil and markers. 3 - Choose your drawing instructions! Easy!!

The book is separated into three categories, Characters, Objects and Backgrounds and within these sections are step-by-step instructions how to draw. The instructions aren't always written but indicated in numerical order adding the extra steps in red. Great if the budding artist can't yet read. The best thing about this is that it really helps!! The set comes with a pad of preprinted backgrounds to draw onto or you can just use your own plain paper. The "easel" has elastic on four corners to hold the paper into place.

So say you want to draw a rocket you go to the rocket example follow the instructions and viola you have a space rocket scene. I am hopeless at drawing so this has helped me to be able to sit and draw with Miss Five who is awesome at drawing. The only reason this doesn't get a complete 10/10 is that the backgrounds don't have step by step instructions. I guess the expectation is that you just figure it out!!!

We love this and I expect it will get a lot more use. Fantastic product. Thanks Klutz!!!

I really love this set from Klutz! My son was too young to appreciate it but I took it with me when I was babysitting two girls aged 8 and 10 and they loved it. They liked the instructions which has very easy diagrams showing them exactly how to draw and making them both artists, After a couple of tries Sarah was drawing little dogs freehand and they looked just like the diagram she was copying. This book is great for travelling as it comes with lots of little supplies, and they were thankful because it even has an eraser!!! This book managed to keep the girls entertained for about two hours which is almost a record for one toy and I left the book there as a gift. Their Mum now informs me that they have been searching online for other Klutz sets, and have added them to their Christmas wishlist.

I really think this book is good value for money and was well received here.

This is the best thing ever to keep your young artists busy for HOURS! Parents too.

It teaches you how to draw things using step by step instructions, with most pictures having four to six steps. It comes with four small coloured felts, a pencil with a rubber and a fine tipped black felt tip. The studio is made of quite thick card (not easily bent) which can sit up in front of you and be flipped over whilst drawing. The cards contain all of the characters, objects and also backgrounds that you can learn how to draw. It also comes with a pad that has different backgrounds on the pages in faint black outline, which I thought was cool because you can draw things in front of the lines and when coloured in they won't show through your drawings.

The first section teaches you how to use the studio and encourages the kids to have fun with it and to mix things up a bit and do things out of the ordinary, which has definitely rubbed off on my son (5) as he added an ipod to his monkey the other day! The next section contains all of the characters you can draw, things like, a cheerleader, vampire, crocodile, monster, eel, princess...lots of cool things for girls and boys. The next section is objects, like, flowers, guitar, volcano, race car, pirate ship and a crown. Both sections have plenty to choose from. Then there is the background section. They can learn to draw an outer space background, a desert, a jungle, a cave and other cool places. So they can draw their own background or use the pad with existing ones and then pick whatever they choose to draw to go with that background.

I would probably buy it for a child five up to nine. My daughter is thirteen and if it is out will join in and really enjoy using it (as I do) but wouldn't want one for herself.

I absolutely recommend this for travel, it is PERFECT. The pens are in a pouch and the pad is attached to the studio, so with the cards sitting up in front of the pad they can draw on their laps, you will just need a large book or maybe a pillow underneath (something a bit bigger than the studio).
