At long last, I have recieved the conclusion to a short but interesting series. In the last book, we discovered that Amy had taken the serum and was mere days away from death, so this introduced a time limit, which I know all to well causes a sensation of hurry and pressure, which in a book translates to captivating. The story roped me in and made we feel as if I was inside the imagined universe that has been created by the existence of this series, and therefore I was carried through the ups and downs, and never knowing what was around the corner.
A few things that happened in this book had me quite flabbergasted, and they were things which I never predicted, and while predicting things can be fun, it can sometimes be a bit of a drag, so having a story that could give me several of those much-desired "I never saw that coming" moments was an experience I very much enjoyed. I was able to tell by a glance that this was the last book into the series, as the cover designers have had a trademark of ending each sub-series by taking the logo on the front cover and finding some inventive way of destroying it, and rebuilding it as the logo of the next book. Series one ended with the logo being smashed by keys, the second ended with the logo burning and smoldering like paper, and on this cover, the logo is smashed and sucked down a vortex, which has a very interesting appearance.
I think that the story was laid out well, and had, as I said, quite a large number of twists and turns which made the experience so appealing that I would consider reading it again, even if only for the opportunity to recap the entire series to get the flow of things fixed in my head. The price is highly reasonable, it is one that makes this book available to a wide range of people, and is a fair price as well, neither an overpriced rip-off or something which appears as a cheap knockoff. The book itself was well put together, I saw no contradictions, and it all flowed smoothly, making it a comfortable read, which I began to get lost in somewhere around the middle of the book. To sum things up, I loved this book, and can't wait for the next one to arrive! *wink wink*
