The kids and I enjoy a wide range of board games and card games and I like to have a couple of small ones for those times when they have swimming lessons or gymnastics, the size that you can thrown it in your bag or purse and not take up much space. The bookshop I work at got some of this game in and we were able to bring the sample home to try it out, and we promptly agreed that it should be one that we own. The box is small, but don't let its size fool you as it gives plenty of fun.
The basis of the game is to stop Bandidio from escaping through the tunnel, there are two levels of difficulty (hard gives you one extra tunnel opening) and we have yet to progress onto the hard. You pick which level you want to do and then everyone gets three cards. You then take turns placing the tunnel cards down, but beware, the wrong card down can lead to you opening even more tunnels up, which makes the game harder to beat. You can work together, so don't be afraid to point out a silly move by another player and see where it might go better.
I've played this several times and haven't managed to block off Bandido that often, it's a game that can go either way and can be both a short game or a long one. A simple game with good variables, give it a try.
