This is an excellent reference book for young astronomers-in-training, as it has clear diagrams, plenty of useful knowledge and ways to identify stars and constellations, and is full of keys and info-boxes that fill in important details for each section of the sky.

It even starts off with a comprehensive "How to use this Atlas" section which explains how to interpret the pages' information.

I was most impressed with the transparent overlay pages, containing the outlines of constellations and their component stars. It made it a lot easier to spot them in the night sky.

Having dabbled in Astronomy at an early age, and still carrying more than a hint of interest in that area, I found this book to be a wonderful re-introduction to the glorious stellar field that surrounds us.

Overall, most impressed. The price would put it into the 'semi-serious reader/hobbyist' range, but for those dedicated to the sciences, it is a very reasonable price to pay for such a valuable publication. Another winner.

Product image for Beetle BoyDarkus can't believe his eyes when a huge insect drops out of the trouser leg of his horrible new neighbour. It's a giant beetle - and it seems to want to communicate.

But how can a boy be friends with a beetle? And what does a beetle have to do with the disappearance of his dad and the arrival of Lucretia Cutter, with her taste for creepy jewellery?
