Star Wars Jedi Academy #3: The Phantom Bully product reviews

Award-winning author/illustrator Jeffrey Brown returns for the third installation of the NY Times Bestseller Star Wars: Jedi Academy!

It's hard to believe this is Roan's last year at Jedi Academy. He's been busier than ever learning to fly (and wash) starships, swimming in the Lake Country on Naboo, studying for the Jedi obstacle course exam, and tracking down dozens of vorpak clones--don't ask. But now, someone is setting him up to get in trouble with everyone at school, including Yoda. If he doesn't find out who it is, and fast, he may get kicked out of school! Why can't middle school just be easy. . .

This incredible, original story captures all of the humor, awkwardness, fun, and frustrations of middle school--all told through one boy's comics, journal entries, letters, sketches, e-mails, and more.

With the new Star Wars movie due next month and living with the biggest Star Wars fan in the world I just had to read this to keep up with the play. Okay Luke, Han Solo, Darth Vader and the rest of them are not in the book but, it does mention Master Yoda, Ewoks and some other familar names, so its kinda the same. As soon as my review items arrived my husband grabbed this book and took it away to read, he wasn't extremely impressed with it but he still enjoyed various aspects of it.

This is just a school boys random thoughts telling his day to day adventures and mishaps. It also shows various events happening at the Jedi School and adverts selling things like a Class Ring. It is told either by text, cartoon or just purely by pictures so every page is different. It is a little all over the place and just discusses important subjects/events that mean something to Roan, like meaningful conversations with his teacher, friends and his girlfriend of sorts.

During his time trying to be the best Jedi in training school, Roan also has to deal with someone that seems to be sabotaging him, but his usual suspect always seems to have an alibi, or he can never get that key piece of evidence that he requires to prove who it was. Unusual events occur, which at times has his friends and teachers upset with him. So something that should of been straight forward usually has a twist of some kind.

This book would be suited for the younger generation as a tad immature for me but I still really enjoyed it. I would of liked to have read more about Yoda or the Ewoks as they are my favourites but the story still held my attention as it is very fast paced. Their are no chapters so to speak so if you need to stop reading basically you just pick a place. It is a very easy read and doesn't get to involved in anything, very light hearted. Good reminder about Jedis and the force being with you. Will put aside for my daughter to read when shes a little older.

Product reviews for listing 1489: Scar Night
Written by Alan Campbell

Product image for Scar NightFor a hundred generations the city of Deepgate has hung suspended by chains over a seemingly bottomless abyss. In the darkness below is said to reside the dread god Ulcis with his army of ghosts. Outside the city extends the barren wastes of Deadsands, inhabited by enemy tribesmen, and safe access is guaranteed only by airship.

At the hub of the city rises the Temple, in one of whose many crumbling spires resides a youthful angel, ... more...
