Because You are You product reviews

In a cosy hay-bale house, a little brown mouse dreams of a future full of wonder and possibility. As Littlemouse's imagination takes flight - from painting masterpieces and baking grand cakes to sailing the high seas and pondering life's deepest thoughts - Mamamouse joins in with boundless encouragement. But when doubt creeps in and Littlemouse wonders, What if I'm just me?, Mamamouse's love remains unwavering.

My first, and second, and third introductions to Mark Sommerset was his Baa Baa Smart Sheep series (which had my kids in hysterics) so I was curious as to what I would find inside these pages. If I hadn't recognized the author, I still would have opened this book because the illustration on the front cover is delightful.

Littlemouse dreams of what it would be like to bake, sail the seas, think great things, draw on the walls and be an artist, and each time asks their Mamamouse what they think. Mamamouse assures Littlemouse that they can't wait to see what they do, what they make, and that it will be wonderful and she can't wait to see Littlemouse does. Eventually Littlemouse becomes concerned that if they're not anything fabulous and just remain a small, little mouse, will Mamamouse still love them (something I am sure most people have wondered at some point or another) and of course, is reassured that no matter what, they will be loved simply because of who they are.

This is a sweet little book, a nice reminder for those who might be anxious, that you don't have to be something big or amazing, because the people who love you will do so regardless, and to them, you are wonderful. The illustrations are so charming and sweet, the watercolour style is gorgeous and really sets the tone for this sweet little book. This is a lovely, heartwarming, reassuring little book that works so well.

Product reviews for listing 2146: Excession
Written by Iain M Banks

Product image for ExcessionTwo and a half millennia ago, the artifact appeared in a remote corner of space, beside a trillion-year-old dying sun from a different universe. It was a perfect black-body sphere, and it did nothing. Then it disappeared. Now it is back.
