The actions of the Revenants are sending shock waves through all the Eleven Kingdoms. No matter what happens, the impact of their release will be felt for generations. Slave and keshik leave the hidden city of the Blindfolded Queen together with Maida and Myrrhini to seek out the Revenants for their own reasons and with their own purposes.
Myrrhini, troubled by her visions to the Mertian "world of could be", is struggling to come to terms with her burgeoning power and complex relationship with Slave, while Keshik comes face to face with the reason for his exile from the Tulugma. Slave continues to wrestle with the twin "blessings" of the Scaren Revenant as he seeks the Peace promised to him by Myrrhini.

Okay, first of all, this book took a very long time to read, I had to speed-read the last half just to get it finished in time. The book was quite charming, there were many parts which involved bloodshed, gore, and sex - but the amount of this charming act was kept to a minimum, so don't worry). It is this fact that drives me to confirm that this book is NOT for young ones, I would hate to think what ideas a 9-year-old might get if they read the book.
Some parts of the story were a wee bit hard to understand due to the fact that this is the third book in the series, so if I am to truly understand the story, I will have to track down and read the first two books. The book was of a good price, and despite the obvious pre-teen-to-adult classification and the astounding length, I personally think that this is an awesome novel worthy of it's price.
I think my favourite character is Myrrhini, she is a nice girl with some amazing abilities, and she is the only one out of the three main characters that is not a warrior, has no weapons and is only involved in battles if she is caught in the crossfire. I loved how the story started off calm, but then slowly, but surely, became more and more injected with action, until I was almost at the end of the book, where each page was almost consumed by action and warfare. All things taken into consideration, I would say that this is an excellent novel that pre-teens through to adults will enjoy.
