Googly eyes is the hilarious family game that challenges your vision and leaves you googling for more! Put on the zany, vision-altering Google Eye glasses, and start to draw while your team tries to guess what you're drawing. Is that an igloo or a turtle? A birthday cake or a fortress?
Players take turns drawing and guessing, so everyone gets a chance to wear the glasses. The glasses come with three sets of lenses that range from mild changes to mind-blowing fun, so no one can see (or draw) straight! Googly eyes is a fun twist on classic drawing games that lets players of different ages and skill levels compete on equal terms, since the goggles make it fun and challenging for everyone. The first team to reach finish wins!

The kids and I had previously owned a copy of Googly Eyes, and I have no idea how but my youngest managed to convince me to get this new edition and get rid of the old. The big downside to this game is that you need four people or more to play it, needing teams of two to play the game, as one needs to draw whilst the other guesses, this is fine but it does mean that it doesn't make it to the table that often as not everyone always feels like wearing funny glasses and drawing. I have a 13, 12 and 10 year old in my house and whilst this is a good enough game to play now and then, it certainly isn't something that really stimulates the brain or has the older two and I begging to play more.
The game is simple enough, roll the dice to move and then determine which lens you're popping into the glasses by picking a random token. The difficulty of your picture is determined by the colour of the square you landed on. There are three levels of difficulty, the harder it is the more time you get. For some, there won't be any real challenge, you just need to figure out how to look through the lens at the right angle and it becomes so much easier to draw. If your teammate manages to guess the correct answer before the timer runs out, then you get to roll again and move. The gameplay is nothing special and if it weren't for my youngest I would have moved this on by now. Still, it is a good enough distraction for a little while.

Communicating a specific word, item or object to your team-mates by giving verbal clues is easy, but when you are against the clock, and most of the words you would like to use are forbidden, it is not as easy as it might at first seem.
How on earth do you communicate 'Pizza' to them if you are forbidden from using the words 'fast-food', 'cheese', ... more...
