The prince makes everyone around him feel as small as a castle mouse. One morning he awakes to discover a big problem: he has shrunk! He demands that the cook, gardener and laundrywoman help him grow, but the crosser and meaner he gets, the smaller he becomes. Only by making his heart bigger can he feel tall again.

I was lucky enough to be given this book to review and I knew from the title that my daughter would love it - she lives in a fairy world of Princes, Princesses and castles. The first thing I noticed was the beautiful hard cover that will mean that this book will stay looking as good as new for a good long time.
And yes I was right - my daughter did love this book and it has been a favourite each night since we got it. As it's not overly long (but just long enough to make it feel like a decent story), it hasn't got too much for me - the one reading it over and over again! I also personally like the moral message about treating others with kindness and so on, which my 6.5 year old cottoned onto well, and relayed back to me in her own words when I questioned her about it.
I love the clear and bold print in this book - it is one of the first things that I noticed. I can see my daughter reading this to herself (or to us) before too long. And the pictures are beautifully done and eye catching. I can see both boys and girls relating to this book and would recommend this to others. The hard cover makes this a more pricey read, but means for a long lasting book that will be enjoyed, and perhaps even be passed down, and still look as good as new.
