A recently paroled master thief assumes the identity of Sheriff Lucas Hood in Banshee, Pa., where his former lover and partner in crime relocated years ago and reinvented herself as Carrie Hopewell, the wife of the town's prosecutor. As Lucas attempts to reunite with Carrie and keep his past a secret, he resumes his life of crime, even as he's hunted by the shadowy gangsters he betrayed years earlier, including a mob boss who seeks revenge against Lucas and Carrie for the jewel heist that landed Lucas in prison.

Before season two premiered on SoHO they had a weekend catchup of season one, we MySky'd and watched within the next three days. Only ten episodes in the season it seemed like a very quick watch.

Being in the wrong place at the right time, or the right place at the wrong time depending how you look at it, the new police sheriff is killed in front of an ex-con. Needing a new identity he takes on the role of Sheriff Lucas Hood. Learning has he goes, but still not taking the street out of the justice he takes over his life. Obviously it is not all smooth sailing and his fellow deputies have there suspisions. Also, there is the fact that Hood is still carrying on his stealing ways and he is also still in love with Anastasia who has also taken on a new role as Carrie.

If you are not one for swearing, sex, murder, sex and swearing I would stay away from this. It is gritty and doesn't pretend to be anything that it is not. You have bad guys and good guys who potentially really are bad guys. It is fantastic and after the first episode I was hooked.

There is also the sub-plots of Rabbit wanting his vengence, Amish hating there own and Indians (although they are more focused on the second series and looking like the third series). Then there is Proctor a new kind of bad dude. Raised an Amish he decided to venture on his own and has his dirty little fingers in most pies throughout Banshee.

I never watched Outrageous Fortune but recal hearing a lot about Anthony Starr, he definitely has the star quality and is a fantastic actor. In vertially every episode he is either bedding a chick or sometimes two and he is in constant fist fights - the dude goes through a lot.

Also I usually forwards the opening credits but this is one of the only shows where I let them play out. The music is so entertaining I love it.
