You could spend an entire day at The Esplanade, there is so much to see and do. The walks through the Native bush take you along the Manawatu River and there are some beautiful views as well as plenty of spots to stop for a rest and take in the scenery. The duck pond is gorgeous and the kids just love it! There are also bird aviaries with lots of birds to observe, another hit with the kids.
The Gardens are huge and beautiful. This will later be our Wedding Venue. It is beautiful all year round and there are plenty of gorgeous photo opportunities with the Gardens as a stunning backdrop! It is lovely to walk through and see the beautiful work they do with the plants.
The Children's play area is large and there is plenty to do, a fort, flying fox, rat wheels, trampolines, slides and much more! There are plenty of tables if you are considering a picnic and BBQ's that are free to use. I would recommend taking something to clean them with. There is a small room suitable for setting up a child's birthday and a smaller playground for younger children. Definitely something for children of all ages! The train goes around the whole grounds and is lots of fun for the kids.
There is so much to do and see you will not be disappointed!
