Okay so it is Miley Cyrus and although her voice seriously gets on my nerves I sat through this as my daughter really wanted to see it and really likes Miley and I am sure my own mother would of had to put up with things like this when I was younger.
But....seriously I really enjoyed the movie although there were a few times when I found myself thinking I wish I wasn't watching this with my daughter with some of the sex talk and what not. It's funny because I often think things like that about movies but when I look back at her age my favourite movies were Grease and Dirty Dancing so really no different. Wasn't really much fun being asked by your 11 year old what a 'brazillian' is though :)
I really liked the storyline in this movie with Lola having her relationship issues alongside her mum Demi Moore who had relationship troubles of her own. I think any teenage girl could relate to the story line and it definitely made me think of my own teenage years. There were strong messages about friendship and trust and mistrust and it really showed the battles young people have with growing up.
The ending was really nice although I will not put in a spoiler but I think it came to a nice conclusion with the characters finding happiness in their own ways. My 11 year old thought this was the best movie ever and has now watched it three times!!
