OK, now, I don't drink coffee... never acquired the taste for it. But having worked behind the counter at one of New Zealand's first Internet Cafes, and having to make Espresso coffee for zombie-faced patrons at all hours of the day and night, I soon learned a few tricks... and I was very gratified to find, after reading this book, that I hadn't been as far off the mark as I once thought.

Sure, there are some new tricks in here (I'd never even heard of a Affogato before, and frankly it worries me such a beverage exists!) but for anyone who has never really had the need to learn how to take a handful of beans and turn them into something wonderful, then this is a real eye-opener... one that should be right next to the coffee making gear in every kitchen that services a coffee drinker.

If you drink 'the dark gold', and haven't even read this book, you are sadly depriving yourself of one of the greatest opportunities available at the moment. There are rules to making this drink properly - and they exist for a reason. You are probably drinking coffee of a standard far below that your equipment is capable of making... and if you DARE say that you are fine with Instant, then you are not a *real* coffee drinker at all. Wink Icon

Overall, no matter what method you use, if you start with beans, or pre-ground coffee, then you *NEED* this book. Seriously. You'll know the reason why after your first cup.
