I've had the title of 'Manager' for over three years now. The main reason I was given the manager title was to make the company look bigger than it really is; and until recently, my team was just me. So how would I cope in a real management situation? Probably not as well as I would like to think.

After reading this book, I can not only put these skills into action, but I can see how I should be doing things, how to implement ideas better, motivate people and probably more importantly, see where things are going wrong with other managers and the company as a whole and feel confident in offering ideas to improve things.

The book is broken into convenient chapters that cover every aspect of your transition from general worker into the role of management. There is plenty of topics I thought would not be covered, only to find they have been - budgets and financial being one of them. There are subjects I would never have dreamed of and find them included.

With each chapter there are further headings to break everything into bite-sized, digestible chunks. At no time are you bogged down with mind-numbing auditory-digital text; this makes Managing for Dummies an absolute joy to read.

With the short time I have had this book in my possession I have picked up enough tips to turn me from the average worker into proper management material. This book has been a mentor to me as well as an important reference manual. It will not be lying idly gathering dust on a forgotten bookshelf; this book will be beside me to help me every step of the way.

It's up to the Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences to find out why these women are vanishing, but agents Books and Braun have their own challenges.

There's a turncoat with nefarious plans within the Ministry itself, and the ... more...
