I absolutely LOVED the movie Avatar... but I will admit, it was definitely more the artwork of the movie, and the flora and fauna of Pandora that interested me, rather than the storyline itself (which I found a little weak). Which means this book suited me perfectly. Although less detailed than "Avatar - An Activist Survival Guide", this book is more "kid-friendly" and still has all the really important details for exploring the world of Pandora. Snapshots from the movie and more painting/drawing style images combine to give a beautiful pictorial view of the world, while the wordy descriptions of each creature/plant serves to give an easy-to-follow idea of how this particular world works.
All my favourites were in there... the fiercely beautiful Thanators; the cutely fascinating Fan Lizards; the majestic Tree of Voices (oh how I would love to curl up under that tree for a while... certainly wouldn't need a book to read there though!!); the stunning Ikran/Banshees along with their far bigger cousin, the Toruk/Great Leonopteryx (these beauties remind me so much of the fire lizards of Anne McCaffrey's Pern series... can I have one please??!!); the peaceful, noble Direhorses; and the mysterious Atokirina/Woodsprites. Also, a few things I don't remember seeing in the movie... Twisted Lilies, Slingers (now THERE'S a really unusual animal!), Stingbats, and the sacred Blue Flute.

I like how "Avatar - The Movie Scrapbook" focuses more on the world of Pandora itself, with only a small section for the Human machines etc that were brought to this amazing planet.
At a rather affordable price, this book is well worth adding to the bookshelf of any Avatar loving child or adult, or even for those who just love fantasy in general, just to be able to sit and flick through it, and lose oneself in the colourful, amazing world James Cameron has brought into our imaginations. However, I also think this would be a great book to have on hand (again, for kids and adults alike) for inspiration for artists, crafters, writers, etc. So much inspiration.. my head is already buzzing with craft-related ideas based on Pandora!

A must for ANY fantasy lover!!
