Keep Fresh Bags product reviews

Keep food fresh and ready!

Fed up of binning expensive fresh food? Keep Fresh Bags are the easy way to cut the cost of your shopping bills. Simply fill, store and pop in the fridge or cupboard, and your favourite fruit and vegetables will keep their lovely fresh goodness for longer.

Keeping essential nutrients locked in, Keep Fresh Bags slow down the natural aging process of food. Use them again and again to absorb the enzyme-stimulating gases, such as ethylene, that cause food to deteriorate.

    •  Food stays fresh for longer
    •  Cut down on food waste, and save money
    •  Reusable - just rinse and dry after use
    •  Helps stop mould, fungus, rotting and decay
    •  For best results, close bag by tying in a knot or secure using a clothespeg.

This product is a definite must have in your cupboard! The bags honestly do keep food fresher longer!

I love the fact that you get 5 of each size bag in the one pack, so 15 bags in total.

I have in the small bag, a pack of cheerios in the fridge, which have been in there just on a week, and still smelling great to eat.

In the medium bag i have a lettuce, which is still crisp and crunchy after two weeks in the fridge.

And in the large bag i have a telegrapgh cucumber which i must say fits well in the bag with room to spare at the top. I have also noticed that the cut end in the cucumber hasn't dried out as much as it usually would sitting in the fridge by itself.

This is definitely a great product that helps you preserve food that little bit extra that you need. And for the added extra, they are reusable - so that cuts down on costs too. Just make sure you thoroughly wash and dry the bag before reusing, especially after meats. I will definitely be getting more in my next shopping trip.

I must admit I was a bit skeptical when I first saw these, but I thought what the heck there must be some truth to it.

So I grabbed a bag and put some oranges in it and left it on the bench in our kitchen which gets nice and warm. Generally it only takes 2 weeks before the oranges get mouldy and need to be thrown out, well we got to 3 weeks and still nice and fresh.

So I am now hooked on these and use them where ever we have fruit or vegetables that used to have a tendancy to go off before, and while it's still a little early to tell I feel quite confident that these will also perform admirably.

Well, this was fun. I decided to give them a realworld test... WITHOUT refridgeration.

I took 3 bananas from the same 'hand' and placed one in a KF bag, one in a normal breadbag, and one on a plate in the open. After 15 days the test ended when the 'breadbag' banana finally started to liquify.

The KF bagged banana was spotted, but still firm with no early signs of softspots, while the banana on the plat was still worth eating... just.

Since banana are notorious for going ripe too fast if bagged, and don't survive the fridge well, I thought this a most excellent test, with some stunning results.

Overall, with the reusability of these bags, the quantity you get for your $10 investment, value for money is astounding, with each bag costing around 67c each. If you take into account that each bag can save you replacement food costs far in excess of $100... a month... how can you *not* rush out and buy a couple of packs of these?!

These bags really surprised me. I wasn't expecting much, but after trying it out on some vegetables, I ended up putting all my vegetables in these bags. And being a vegetarian who loves to cook, I do have a fridge full of vegetables - in almost excessive abundance.

How they work, I'm not sure. Whether they actually absord the Ethene as they claim to, or whether they are more porous and allow the gas to escape - I have no idea. But the point is, they do seem to work. The vegetables seem to keep fresher for longer and do not seem to dry out to the point of wilted and sad, nor do they over-ripe and go mouldy to quickly. The only vegetables I would not store in them are mushrooms - which still seemed to sweat and go slimey. These are still best stored in paper to keep them looking at their best.

The bags are simple to wash out; however I would recommend that you wash them in warm soapy water, rinse then dry. Once the outside is dry, turn them inside out to finish drying properly, then they can be folded up and stored.

The fact that these bags are re-usable, is a bonus too. I'm not sure how often they can be re-used. Until they rip perhaps? Either way, it is a good buy.

Product reviews for listing 3581: Lassar 7in Santoku Chefs Knife -  Brand: Lassar

Product image for Lassar 7in Santoku Chefs KnifeSantoku knives originated in Japan and are general purpose kitchen knives. The word refers to the three cutting tasks which the knife performs well: slicing, dicing and mincing.

The rounded nose allows the knife to be rolled from the front for fine dicing of herbs etc. It has an extra wide blade so when doing fine slicing at speed you can rest your knuckle against the blade and keep your finger tips out of the way of the cutting action.

Approximate blade length: 17.5cm / 7in
