This is a beautifully told story. It is very short and simplistic. Definitely a great read for toddlers or young children between 4 and 7 to learn to read.

The illustrations are also realistic and appealing to youngsters. They are big and bright and also simple. Nothing too dramatic that pulls the pictures away from the story. I would describe the illustrations to be drawn using sketch art.

This is a great storyline about helping and sharing. Great for those who have just welcomed a new sibling in to the family.

The book itself is a hardcover which is great for durability in young hands.

Product reviews for listing 7939: The Stolen Stars of Matariki -  Author: Miriama Kamo

Product image for The Stolen Stars of Matariki"Pai kare!" Grandma exclaimed. "What's happened to Matariki? There are normally nine stars, but tonight I see only seven....'"

When Grandma and Poua take the children eeling one magical and wild starry night, they discover two stars missing from the Matariki cluster. Have the patupaiarehe been up to mischief again?

Inspired by childhood memories, this hauntingly beautiful debut story by award-winning journalist Miriama Kamo is brought to life by family friend and notable artist, Zak Waipara.
