This is a beautifully told story. It is very short and simplistic. Definitely a great read for toddlers or young children between 4 and 7 to learn to read.

The illustrations are also realistic and appealing to youngsters. They are big and bright and also simple. Nothing too dramatic that pulls the pictures away from the story. I would describe the illustrations to be drawn using sketch art.

This is a great storyline about helping and sharing. Great for those who have just welcomed a new sibling in to the family.

The book itself is a hardcover which is great for durability in young hands.

This fictional story was inspired by the story of Freda, a Harlequin Great Dane and mascot of the NZ Rifle Brigade during World War 1. The ANZAC Puppy is a simple story about the reality of war, hardship, friendship and love.
