I found this book to be a great way to introduce children to learning about literacy. It has easy to understand activities in it, which is a plus when a child is ready to start the next level in their learning development.
I love the fact there are pull-out cards and mats that are easy to take anywhere. The mats and cards are big enough for the child to hold and recognise and yet still small enough to pack up without taking up virtually any space.
Even better are the specific pages in the front of the book that can be photocopied as replicas for when your child advances further or if you wish to keep giving your child more chances to practise.
I've started my 2 1/2 yr old daughter on this book and she has shown a keeness towards learning with it. The pictures are easy for her to recognise, she is pronouncing most of the alphabet correctly so am now starting to show her the alphabet in written form so she can progress to the next level.
This book is well designed and it, and the activities in it, are attractive for both adults and children.
