A very basic book, aimed really at the younger kids. From skinks to crocs, frogs to snakes, this book covers them all. Big bold lettering, with difficult or important words highlighted with big blocks of bright colours makes this easily readable by young kids, with a bit of help from mum or dad.
There isn't a lot of information, with 1 small paragraph per page/critter. This book is mainly pictures, big pictures. The info that is there is quite good though.
All in all, a pretty good book for the wee ones, but a bit too basic for school-age kids. An excellent highlight though is the small datablock on each page, showing the average size of the critter, a picture showing it in scale to an average human, and a 5-skull danger rating. Pretty good, and not a bad price considering it's a large, hardcover book.
