Im not sure if im allowed to write a review on something that is no longer ... but here i go! I LOVED this product and i wish that it was still around. The garlic flavour in it was perfect, it was nice and strong, yet mixed with the butter it wasn't too salty.
We used this for many dishes from garlic bread and garlic potatoes (both new and mashed) to stuffing chicken with it and adding to any vege. It was very versatile and handy to jazz up most meals.
The downside to the product, and perhaps why it wasn't a hit (if that was the case why its not on the market any more - or i can't find it) is that it is small at only 100g for $2.50, most people could make their own for cheaper. But for ease of convenience this product rocks!
I love garlic butter... it gives a -zing- to your favourite foods, it's unbeatable on french stick bread or ciabatta, gives mashed spuds or kumara a kick, and really makes sliced carrots into something stunning... and as I discovered by experimentation, it can even liven up steamed rice (-example-)
Normally I make my own garlic butter, but with the very basic skills I have, it usually turns out lumpy and chunky, despite being very flavoursome, but this butter is smooth and creamy, perfect for using anywhere you would serve normal butter.
Overall, very much worth a try, look for it in the butter chiller in your local supermarket. Also, keep an eye out for the others in the range...
