I am so disappointed with this movie! I expected some amazing choreography, great acting (considering the cast) and a semi alright script but instead I got a movie I was tempted to turn off numerous times as was so bored or at least push forwards on and I can't believe I am going to say this but this was during the dancing scenes.
I have to admit I found the first Magic Mike absolutely terrible - but the reviews I had read on the second saga made it sound alright. As I am a huge Channing Tatum fan, love my dancing movies and have been curious to find out what kind of actor Johnny Depps ex-wife Amber Heard was I knew I had to watch this. It has been sitting on the hard drive for over four months now and my husband finally relented into watching it with me. After five minutes he had his tablet back in his lap and I sat there dying to push the fast forward button just to get the dribble over with.
It is extremely talk heavy and the dancing, although it was done at times really well it was just boring and too over the top for my liking. The movie was slimy and the acting was terrible. The road trip from snooze town. I am absolutely shocked how half of them can call themselves actors as most of them mumbled their lines and it was like they had no script and was making it up as they go. No natural flow and the cougar woman scenes were disgusting and just boring. I have never been an Andie MacDowell fan and the scenes she was in just repulsed me and if she was my mother acting like that I would probably slap her.
The only good thing I can say is I enjoyed Will Smiths wife Jada acting and found her parts were fantastic she saved the movie, only just. The girl can move and I would much rather have watched her dance than the likes of what I saw the guys do. Even her talking parts were more entertaining then all of the guys put together.
All I can say is if you watch this movie watch it on mute. Woops, no then you would miss out on the killer soundtrack instead watch it with your eyes closed. Better yet save yourself the trouble and just go out and buy the soundtrack as you will not be missing anything if you don't watch this movie. Even the final scenes were a huge let down. Not worth watching in my opinion.
