Apples & Bananas is the tastiest treat for children since tea time! Twenty-two bite-sized nursery rhymes and songs that have been sung by children for hundreds of years have now been given The Wiggles' special musical magic! Sing along with special guest Lee Hawkins to "This Little Piggy Went to Market" and with the delightful Dennisha Pratt on "Miss Polly Had a Dolly". There's the "spider-iffic" actions of "Itsy Bitsy Spider", Dorothy the Dinosaur swings on "Shortnin' Bread", then we jump on board for "The Wheels on the Bus" and "This Old Man Came Rolling Home"! The Wiggles travel across the globe to Ireland for "Tell Me Ma" and "Michael Finnegan" and then over the continent for the delightful French song "Sur le Pont d'Avignon". With centuries of songs served up fresh for your child, Apples & Bananas is certainly "a-peeling"!

My son has never really showed any interest in DVD's or children's programs of any kind getting into the soundtracks or opening music and not much more. Certainly an age thing but also for him an attention thing as he is so active and can't sit still and pay attention for long periods of time. Well this DVD took me completely by surprise when he watched it all from start to finish and then asked for it again!
At first he sat and watched it pointing to the TV screen when things of interest came on the screen but he was pretty much mesmerized by the voices and the bright colours on the screen. Soon he too was up and dancing away along with the wiggles and really getting into the spirit of the DVD. What has amazed me is that he has only watched the DVD twice and he can now sing and knows the words to Apples and Bananas which has really stuck in his brain.
I also found myself singing along which I'm sure many parents would. The majority of the songs in the DVD are known nursery rhymes from my own childhood or my early childhood teaching so I knew most of them but even the ones I didn't know where easy enough to catch on to. Some of my favourites where Michael Finningan and This Little Piggy which my boy already knows so was really excited to hear the wiggles singing that.
I remember the Wiggles from when my daughter now 12 was a preschooler and they have changed so much with only one of the original Wiggles remaining but they haven't lost the charm that they have always had. They are so animated and do a good job of getting the children involved and keeping their interest. I think we would definitely get a Wiggles DVD again in the future after enjoying this one so much
