My baby girl got this set of musical keys for her Christmas present. When it arrived in the package, it was singing away off and on. I didn't realise it was the package til I opened it out and tripped the button again. This set of keys is bright and interesting. It has a friendly yellow face, which draws the eye. Faces are great on baby things because they are instantly recognisable as faces. Its a primal thing apparently. The keys themselves have animals on each, which are cute too.
Each key has a bit of an activity. Part of their movement either twists, flips, or rolls. Plus when you shake the keys they all rattle together in a chunky plastic way. My daughter likes to grab this either by one key or the yellow face to give it a good shake. The musical piece is quite heavy though, and she has managed to bop me in the head with them. Its not very pleasant when she manages to connect, and she has gotten herself too. But she isn't too violent with it.
My main complaint about this toy is that it has a nice bright 'on' button, but no 'off' button at all. It also doesn't have a volume control. While it is a cheaper musical toy compared to others on the market, I still would prefer the option to turn it off. It helps save batteries and annoyance when you accidentally kick it in the dark, etc.
