The Life Cycle of the Monarch Butterfly comes alive in stunning images and educational text.

What a beautiful little book! Thank you so much for the opportunity to review this one. It is gorgeous. Full of facts, bright, and colorful, and I was amazed to learn something within the first two pages. By the end of the book I was astounded at how different monarchs are from normal butterflies, and the facts in it were really quite amazing... resulting in a full discussion between myself, a friend who was visiting and my father. And of course also resulting in all of us now wanting to purchase monarch butterfly plants, haha.
A brilliant book which teaches so much but is interesting, not overwhelming and full of beautiful bright pictures, and lovely for any age too.
I have always loved the monarch butterfly. It's something we Kiwis have adopted as one of our own and it has become a part of every 'Kiwi Summer' to have yellow and black caterpillars slowlyly dissolving the swanplants, followed by red/orange/black lace fluttering around.
I found this book to be fascinating and when I showed it to some younger family members they were enthralled too. It certainly has every hallmark of a quality educational, entertaining book. The only thing it was missing was a little packet of swanplant seeds stuck inside the front cover with a page dedicated to growing instructions. Now THAT would have made this a perfect-10 book for me.
All in all, I am so glad I have this, and wish I had gotten something like it a lot sooner. This year, we convert the weed garden to swanplants!
