I have always been fascinated by the various disasters that have occured throughout history, both local and international, and the Hindenburg disaster is one of the more interesting ones.
I say interesting as it has always been surrounded by controversy and conspiracy theories, some of which are plausible such as the saboteur theory, or the lightnng strike theory, or the static charge theory, there are also the theories that are just so implausible they make you laugh.
This docudrama looks at the three main possible scenarios, the saboteur, the lightning strike and the static charge. Now whilst I have not seen or read any of the original case notes and investigation board reports I cannot comment on the accuracy of the coverage of the investigation, but the arguments that were put forward in this were very convincing. I also felt that the inclusion of interviews with some of the remaining survivors of the disaster help add that bit more to this doco.
So whilst we may never know exactly what caused the Hindenburg disaster, I feel this documentary was on the right track.
