The 3 a.m. Epiphany: Uncommon Writing Exercises That Transform Your Fiction product reviews

The 3 A.M. Epiphany will encourage writers to push the boundaries of their fiction for exciting results. Rather than featuring standard rules, this guide:     •  shares unusual exercises that help writers "think away" from anxieties, allowing creative ideas to emerge
    •  combines the work of writing with thought processes behind the work, helping writers break out of limited writing processes and moulds
    •  Addresses the concerns of fiction writers, whether they are going it alone or enrolled in a workshop, having difficulty getting started or suffering from a block

The 3 A.M. Epiphany will give writers the exercises they need to make creative breakthroughs.

If you like to write, and want to write better, this is definitely the book for you. Stuffed full of exercises to stretch all different sorts of writing muscles, from point of view to vivid description, interview and voice, Brian Kiteley has genuinely delivered on the tagline promise - writing exercises that transform your fiction.

No. 1, for example, is to write 500 words in first person while only using the personal pronoun 'I' twice in the whole piece. Surprisingly hard and really rewarding. I feel like my writing has matured twenty or thirty fold and I am only up to exercise 11 so far (check them out on my blog - [here]). Great for getting those creative juices flowing when you get stuck.

Highly recommend owning your own copy as the explanations and examples that go with each exercise are pure gold.

The mysterious Time Tombs are opening and the Shrike that has risen from them may well control the fate of all mankind. The Ousters are laying seige to the Hegemony of Man and the AIs we created have turned against us to build the Ultimate Intelligence; God. The God of Machines.

His genesis could mean annihilation for man. Something is drawing the hegemony, the Ousters, the AIs, the entire universe to the Shrike.
