Food Sealer product reviews

Throw away less food with this vacuum sealing storage system.

Air can be the worst enemy of food... Just try to leave a slice of banana, avocado or potato on the kitchen worktop, in just 5 minutes it will become oxidised, leaving it black and very unappealing to eat!

The Food Sealer sucks the air out and seals the bag; dramatically extending the shelf life of your food. Now you can have an affordable, high quality vacuum sealing machine in your very own home.

The tough sealer bags are fully washable & dishwasher proof which makes them reuseable. Extra rolls can be purchased from this website.

    •  Affordable, high quality vacuum sealing machine in your own home.
    •  Safely store foodstuffs for months at a time without damage from moisture or air before they lose flavours or go off.
    •  Some great ideas that might surprise you, sealing important documents such as certificates, deeds or photos to protect them from damp or any damage.
    •  Shampoos or toiletries: don't risk them exploding all over your suitcase when packing for your holiday. Vacuum seal them to make sure they arrive safe and sound.
    •  Make your own boil in the bag meals, just keep them in the freezer ready to go in the microwave.
    •  Ensure you're prepared with extra Food Sealer rolls. Simply cut the roll to the length you require - no wastage at all!

I wasnt quite sure about buying one of these, as I didnt really think I would use one much, but the opportunity came up where I had the chance to get one, and I am sure glad I did, I use it all the time.

It just makes keeping food fresh so much easier, and can save you alot of money in the future, from keeping left overs, to half eaten bags of chips fresh, and can be used on so many different things.

The easy to cut bags are just great as you get to choose the size of bag you need, I totally recommend these to everyone.

I have seen these types of devices for years and I have always wondered if they are as good as they seem to be. Well this one certainly is.

This is a great device, especially if you buy your meat in bulk and then want to separate it onto handy meal sized portions for easy defrosting and cooking later.

This unit is very easy to use, in fact it's so easy I was able to figure out the different steps in a matter of ten minutes or so without reading the instructions (the fact that I had misplaced the instructions had nothing to do with that of course Wink Icon). First off you grab what size roll you want (it comes with to different widths) then roll out an appropriate amount and cut it off, next you take one of those ends and place it in the unit making sure a good 1-2cm is covering the heating/sealing element/roller at the bottom. Close the lid and hold it down firmly and press the seal button. After a few seconds the seal light will go off and you can open the lid and remove the bag which is now sealed at one end. Fill the bag up with whatever you wish and then place the unsealed end over the heating element/roller making sure the open end is a good distance into the oval area formed by the rubber sealing ring. Close the lid once more holding it firmly down and press the vacuum/seal button, the unit will start to suck the air out of the bag and once it thinks all the air is out it will then seal the end. Once this is completed press the two release buttons at each end of the unit and viola one sealed and vacuum packed bag of whatever you wish.

This is a great appliance andI wish I had gotten one sooner.

Over the years, I have used many methods of vacuum-sealing various things... from food to clothing, documents to medical samples. The methods are always different though the results are often the same.

When it comes to vac-packing food though, the best gear is often too big, bulky and expensive for home use... so a nice little devic e like this, that takes up hardly any space at all and does a fairly good job for the home is an ideal option to consider... and the price, well, it's pretty good too... there are some scary pricetags out there.

For me, this unit was very easy to use, though I admit to having found some have to be utterly sure your bags are dead-flat when you clamp down the lid... because even the slightest fold or crease will cause you wasted time and plastic, and a non-sealed bag. To this end, while you 'learn the ropes' I would strongly suggest that you cut 3-4cm of extra bag off the roll, and make your first seal near the edge, to give you space to work with if you need to cut the seal away and try again.

Also, as with all vacuum sealing methods, you must take great care when sealing 'juicy' foods such as fresh meat or anything with a sauce... liquids in a seal will cause it to fail as surely as a folded bag will. Caution, and a handful of paper towels, can save you much frustration. Also, ensuring you use a good quality bag refill bag rolls we tested proved unable to seal well due to the huge heats they needed to seal properly.

Overall, despite the inevitable loud grunting noises of the vacuum pump, the unit proved itself a worthy device, well capable of it's job (after a few practice runs), and quite able to pay itself off in no time in saved foods. Also great for the upcoming BBQ season, as a couple of steaks, a few slices of kiwifruit and a dash of soy sauce, or a slather of mustard and some crushed garlic, seal them up and throw them in the fridge for a day or so will make getting geared up for BBQ season a breeze!

I have to admit I was skeptical about this product. And now I have to eat my words - and probably best served up with all the foods I've sealed up.

The first time I used it was on a 1kg block of cheddar that was on special in the supermarket. I cut the cheese into fifths and sealed up 4 of the blocks to keep it ready for use. So, to use the machine cut the bags to size, seal one end, put the food in and press the other button to vacuum and seal.

Sounds simple? Well, actually it was that simple. Even my 11 year old daughter was using it with very little instruction. So really, what could be more complex?

Now you have this food sealer, you will find more and more uses for it. meat, cheese, and other foods can be sealed up and prevented from drying out and prolonging the storage of food items and lessening the food wastage. So much so, the food sealer will pay for itself very quickly with money saved from the food you are not throwing out.

The bags supplied come on a roll, so you can cut to size - this minimises the wastage of the plastic. The bags also come in two handy sizes to ensure that the bags are useful for all your food storage needs.

Skeptical still? Not me.
