After a long journey marred by tragedy, twins Trei and Souk finally reach the camp of the feared Northmen, also known as 'Manhunters'. The twins are surprised to find that they are like any other tribe - except for the lethal weapons they wield, and their ruthless determination to keep the secret of those weapons from their neighbours. Accused as spies, the twins must struggle for the trust of a people who regard them with hate and suspicion, and a shaman who is jealous of Souk's healing powers.
But when Souk finds love amongst these strangers, Trei's dream of returning to their own people with the knowledge of how to create these valuable weapons is threatened.

Set In Stone turned out to be rather boring which was disappointing because I thought it would be better than Scorched Bone. The cover made me feel like I was in the stone age looking at a real spear point on a cave wall covered in engravings. Because it was so boring, it took quite a lot of time to read it, in fact it took longer to read than book 1! It started off harshly with the "Manhunters" forcing Trei and Souk into their territory, which was really scary. However, I enjoyed it when Trei became a hunter and got to shape spear heads, so I really hope that the next book will be more interesting.
