It was with great pleasure I took this mouse for a 2 week test-drive. Having experienced a few 'notebook' mice in the past and found many of them to be way too small for my big hands, it was nice to find a mouse that aimed for the middle ground. Not as tiny as the ultra-mini mice, and not as big as regular desktop mice, this one was sized to suit a wider range of hand sizes comfortably. Though it still was a little small for me, as I got a bit of a sore wrist after a couple of hours of use, it managed to outlast all previous contenders.

I was impressed at the battery life... after ensuring it had a full charge, it ran on and on without pause, and I still haven't needed to top it up. However, when I do need to, it will be as simple as plugging the supplied USB cable into it and working it as a short-tethered cabled mouse for a few hours while it sucks up a few ergs.

The only glitch I encountered during the use of this mouse was when I had the tranceiver plugged into an old USB 1.1 hub... the signal would cut out briefly every few minutes, making for a slightly jerky usage. Even having the cable attached didn't give me respite, so I would highly recommend NOT using it on older USB systems. A USB 2.0 hub is readily available these days on any retail shelf, so you would be wise to invest - you'll notice the improvement on pretty much all USB devices you use.

My only other concern with this mouse is the battery cover. It has, at each side, small locking clips which can easily get caught in their sleeves. A moment of frustration and a bit of rough handling, and you are likely to snap one, or both, of them off. Doing this will affect the performance of the mouse, as they help keep the contacts firmly locked against the batteries, so reduction in pressure will probably result in intermittant power supply.

Setup and installation are simplicy itself, with an installation disc containing all the drivers and utilities needed to run and fine-tune the mouse for best performance and power usage. However, you would be wise to run the mouse a few times at various settings to discover the one best suited to your needs.

Overall, an excellent notebook mouse, well worth considering. it might not be the cheapest, but then quality usually doesn't come with a discounted pricetag.
