I liked the sound of this restaurant, $22.50 for a full buffet, including all courses, but excluding drinks.
The staff seemed friendly enough, and there was no immediately offputting smell when I walked in the door, but no surprise there.
I got assigned my table, with my partner, and then we went up to get our drinks. Not once from this point on, did I get a smile, or even a cursory glance.
After paying a whopping $13 for a vodka and Redbull, I went to get my first taste of food. A nice piece of tasty looking meat pie, that looked somewhat like a piece of Shepherds pie, that my grandmother makes.
Two bites into this meaty wonder, I felt an unexpected crunch. Removing the offending piece of Chicken Bone, A one off, I assumed. A simple human error, surely.
Then two bones, and three pieces of chicken skin later, I could do nothing more, than put down my fork, and I decided to let the waitress know, so the offending dish could be removed. However, it seemed the waitress seemed more interested in ensuring she kept a blank expression to me, rolling her eyes, spotted by my partner, as soon as her back was turned to me. Not offerring any form of apology at all.
This shocked me. After working in customer service for the last four years, the least I expected was a "Sorry about that, I'll let the cook know".
I could not bring myself to touch even one more thing from this place, and with a crook tummy the next day, vowed never to come back.
