Product reviews...
Having been a fan of garlic bread for many years, I have come to take it as a benchmark item at a food supplier. Basically, it's so easy to get it right, and so easy to stuff it right up if they get sloppy... it's a good indicator of their staff's skill, and also their creativity... after all, there is so much you can do to a plain garlic bread to really add a dash of 'X' factor.
Domino's brought out their now-standard Cheesy Garlic bread a while back, and I loved it, so I was keen to see what the addition of bacon would do... and the answer is... a bit.
It's a really nice addition, don't get me wrong... but I am not entirely sure if it's what *I* want in a garlic bread. The cheese is brilliant, adding a creamy flavour and chewy texture to a delightful staple dish, but the bacon adds a quite salty taste that doesn't really agree with me. I found myself craving a huge amount of drinks afterwards, far more than is normal for me. However, the bread did compliment the new Russian and Chicken Italiano pizzas we had at the same time, along with the ever-popular Hawaiian on a Cheese Burst crust.
Overall, this will turn out to be an aquired taste, you'll either love it or flag it... but personally it's one I think I will have again, but not very often, unless they can reduce that saltiness.
