This recording received mixed comments when I played it at work. I think many were put off by the description on the back - especially when the accordian was mentioned, and maybe, they had visions of terrible accordian players busking around Christchurch. However, when I played the CD, many were pleasantly surprised by the music and was enjoyed by the staff, and we fielded many enquiries from customers on this CD.
This CD provided a nice ambient background music to the shop, neither overpowering nor diminishing into the background. There was enough depth to the music to attract the ear to listen further, without dominating the space.
I would have never chosen this CD, me being a classical nerd, but I have to say it was thoroughly enjoyed by all who listened to it, and trying to please 12 people is difficult; and that alone made it exceptional value for money.
