Class 4F is a mighty challenge for any teacher, with One-Eyed Eileen's gang of freaks and their naughty antics. But Miss Corker (alias Miss Schnorkel) works out a clever way to handle them. From the creator of Old Tom and Horrible Harriet, and inspired by 25 years of teaching, comes another unforgettable cast of hilarious characters.
It's Miss Corker's first day at her new school (in fact, it's her first day at any school) and she is looking forward to meeting her class...

It was really quite cool and funny. The pictures were very good. There was one picture that showed the gang of freaks. I would like to share this book with the rest of my class if my teacher will let me.
Hobbs has excelled himself with 4F for Freaks. A nice simple, yet fun story line for the younger reader, with funny line drawings to complement the story.
The book opens with a new teacher starting at a new school, and one by one the teacher is introduced to her horribly freaky class of repulsive students. The book is broken into short chapters to make for easy reading by children.
My daughter fell in love with this book, and immediately took it to school to read in her class. The teacher was impressed by the book too. The story includes a number of words to stretch the young reader without making them feel overwhelmed by the complexity of language, yet simple enough to engage the child. The adult reader (to their child of course!) will not be bored by the story or the artwork.
I look forward to seeing further offerings from Leigh Hobbs.
