Pup Star: Better 2Gether product reviews

The action-packed new season of the franchise continues with the story of Tiny, an adorable Yorkie pup who, after winning the 'Pup Star' TV singing competition, is suddenly launched into an adventure when she's replaced by a street Yorkie, Scrappy, and the two swap lives in a dog-filled, fish-out-of-water tale that ultimately demonstrates life truly is 'better together.'

We watched Pup Star late in 2017 as a family and we all thoroughly enjoyed it, a great family themed franchise that all ages can enjoy. These movies are fun and light hearted so even the youngest of viewers can get a good laugh with no scary parts or scenes that could offend and the adults can laugh at the humour that will go over younger viewers heads. As we have followed the Air Buds franchise for many years Pup Star really was a film our family would enjoy.

Following on from Pup Star, Pup Star 2 sees Tiny the Yorkshire Terrier back on the stage to defend her titles as the Pup Star. We get to see more singing and performing dogs take to the stage to sing and dance and compete against one another. In this sequel we meet rival Scrappy the Yorkshire Terrier street dog as Tiny and Scrappy get switched by the villian Bark and lead much different lives to their own. Tiny has to get on as a streetdog meeting strays and tough dogs on the streets while Scrappy gets to live the high life that Tiny is so used to.

The storyline is easy for children to follow and we get to know and feel for the characters and enjoy watching their journeys to see how they get themselves back to normality, without any spoilers the story has such a sweet heart warming ending that will make everyone happy and realising how things really are better together. The pups certainly make for cute viewing and we love the way the talking/performing animals just interact so normally with humans and while we know animals don't talk our imagination and enjoyment of the movie lets us just sit back and imagine things a little differently.

Aside from the cute animals the movie is full of laughs with indirect links to other famous singing shows like American Idol, Carpool Karoake (Cardrool Karoake)and Taylor Swift (Taylor Sniff) making it a bit of an all ages laugh out loud film. Great for family movie night and real sweet how we see how important family is and how the dogs stay true to themselves and learn that it is better to love one another and work together as one.
