Product reviews...
GHD gold is actually gold in my book. I have owned two of these now. I first got one for mothers day many years ago and I used it all the time, it was the best tool ever invented for my unruly hair. It straightens very quickly on dry hair, it corrects flyways and straightens curly hair, also tames frizz. Eventually after using all the time my GHD cord started to effect the heat consistency so I was luckily brought another one for my birthday at least 5 years ago and its still going strong. I have used other straighteners that a slightly cheaper but they are no where as good, they take way longer to get results and never as smooth as GHD so they are worth every sent.
It is easy to pack away in its carry case so you can travel with it. The heat resistant bag means you can put it away as soon as you finish using it, not having to wait for it to cool. This brilliant tool doesn't stop at straightening though, it also curls beautiful ringlets and stunning hair styles that you'd only achieve at a salon. Salons usually charge around $15 to $20 to get your hair straightened with a GHD styler so after all the times I have used mine I have definitely got my moneys worth and more. If you're thinking about buying one I can guarantee you will not be disappointed.
For many years growing up I would straighten my hair daily using a cheap straightener which would probably cost between $30 and $50 dollars, it would always take so long to heat up and then would take forever to get my hair dead straight, often id have to add a tonne of styling products such as smoothing serum to my hair to get it even close to straightening and then after about 10 minutes of being outside it was as though my time and effort was wasted as my hair went from straight to an out of control frizzy mess.
After lots of hinting I received a GHD Gold Classic Styler for Christmas a couple of years ago and I'm so pleased I did! It takes just moments to heat up when you switch it on and you know it's ready as it had a red flashing light to tell you it's good to go. The plate is smooth and doesn't pull your hair out or take much effort to use as hair glides smoothly and freely through the straightener. The straightener also had curved edges so is also suitable for curling your hair or creating waves in it, although I have never used this function myself.
The plate heats up really hot, and the temperature stays in your hair for quite a while after you've pulled it through the straightener. Due to the heat that comes off it, it definetely takes a lot less time and effort to get your hair straight, it honestly does such an amazing close to that that a hairdresser would do. I find now that without washing my hair for a few days my hair will stay relatively straight until the next wash or may just need a quick touch over with the straightener in the morning which is so helpful especially if your in a rush.
This straightener is truly fantastic and when using if you can definetely kiss the frizz goodbye. The price obviously is significantly more expensive as opposed to the cheaper brands but is a well worth it investment if your a regular hair straightener and i'm sure its bound to save you lots of time and money in the long run.
I always straighten my hair as it is in between being curly and straight and is generally just a frizzy mess. It has a lot of wave but not enough to be classed as curls so I prefer it to be straight. I received this hair straightener as a gift for Christmas and am so impressed by it.
Previously I had a cheap hair straightener I had bought myself and the ceramic plates were quite worn out so that when I run it through my hair it would pull quite a lot and would sometimes leave crimped impressions in the hair. This is amazing it just glides through the hair leaving it straight and smooth. There is no pulling so I feel it will be doing less damage to my hair too.
As it glides through the hair so well and stays really hot it takes a lot less time to get my hair looking straight and smooth and the plates seem to give the hair a polished look so it looks as good as when I have it done at the salon. It also lasts so if I go out on a windy day it will stay straight and sometimes I can get away without straightening it the next day if I don't wash my hair that day.
I love this hair straightener and will definetly not need to use my cheap one again I would definetly recommend if you straighten your hair a lot to give this hair straightener a try it has certainly made my morning routine easier
