I had recently found the Pitango Kids range of meals while doing my grocery shopping at my local Pak'n Save. I had dinner sorted for the adults in the house, but needed something for Miss 1 as there was no way she was going to want to eat what we were having on this particular night
. When I was in the chilled food section where all of the soups and dips are kept I happened to see the Pitango Kids Macaroni Cheese out of the corner of my eye. My daughter loves mac and cheese usually so I got her this thinking it would surely go down well.
The Pitango kids range had me sold due to a number of factors, there foods are organic and are also made in New Zealand from local ingredients (as well as from imported ingredients), it also contains no added salt, sugar, or preservatives and it also claims to be a great source of calcium, which I happen to believe as it's mainly cheese, milk and pasta that goes into Mac and Cheese! Obviously I couldn't serve this up to Miss 1 without giving it a taste test myself and I must say I was super impressed with what I tasted, it was super yummy, and seemed really fresh, the pasta was nice and soft, not hard and The cheese sauce was nice and creamy and packed full of flavour which did surprise me due to having no added salt and sugar!
My daughter loved this and asked for more after eating the whole pouch, the pouch does say it serves 2 but I guess it would depending on how big of a appetite your child has! This is definitely a great child friendly kids meal that is perfect for when your in a hurry and when you want something you know your kids will love!
I found this range of kids meals recently and really like them as quick easy options for meals for my 1 year old. I like how they are organic and are free from added salt and sugar.
This macaroni cheese is really tasty and tastes really fresh. The cheese sauce is really rich and creamy and even with no added salt it has a lot of flavour. I could quite easily eat this as a light meal myself which I wouldn't eat some of the baby food on the market. My son really enjoyed this, it says it serves 2 but he ate the whole lot by himself as he really enjoyed it.
They are a bit more expensive than other jarred baby foods but are a good price for a meal that you can have in the fridge, obviously being fresh they also wouldn't keep as long as baby food in a jar.

A combination of unrefined extra virgin coconut oil and extra virgin avocado oil, Cocavo has less saturated fat than regular coconut oil. In addition to being high in lauric acid, Cocavo also offers the added health benefits of avocado oil which includes high levels of mono-unsaturated fat, vitamin E and plant sterols. Cocavo has a very high smoke point, which makes it ideal for cooking and enhancing flavors.
