A classic Disney fairytale collides with modern-day New York City in a story about a fairytale princess who is sent to our world by an evil queen. Soon after her arrival, Princess Giselle begins to change her views on life and love after meeting a handsome lawyer. Can a storybook view of romance survive in the real world?

This is a great movie for little girls and my daughter has thrashed her copy of the movie. She has always loved all things princesses and this movie is great as unlike some of the disney princesses movie she hasn't outgrown this one yet as it is also suited for older children and even the adults too.

It is a really sweet film where Giselle turns up at the home of a solo dad and begins cleaning and singing and just adding sparkle back into the home. The little girl loves Giselle and wants her to stay so the dad lets her stay to please his daughter. It is a really great little love story but will prince charming find his way to Giselle to reunite their love or will he be too late.

Watch it and see you won't regret it, it really is a great movie. One for girls young and old to enjoy!

Enchanted is just that, enchanting, and I am 100% enchanted with this movie.

This is a great premise. A fairy tale character in her world of songs, one try love, true loves kiss and talking animals. Every fairy tale has a bad guy, and this one is the 'evil stepmother to be'. Just as Giselle is about to get her happy ever after she is shoved into the real world, where, to quote the film, 'there are no happy ever afters'.

I loved how many references there are to other Disney movies, ranging from the glass slipper to names of people in the industry to Jodi Benson (the long time voice of The Little Mermaid) being Patrick Dempsey's secretary.

This movie gives everything that you would expect from a generic Disney film, and manages to bring it into the real world in a way that is fully believable. Giselle experiencing the real world and growing into far more than her fairy tale world, the animal who can talk in his animated world but finds himself without a voice in our world...

And the songs! Every single one of them were perfect, and I have several on my music player.

If you like Disney movies then this is a great choice, and one of the best movies to come out in the last ten years. Keep an eye out for all the references to movies like Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Lady and the Tramp etc. Fun for the whole family.

Enchanted was released approximately the same time I had my first daughter. I went to see it on the big screen with her in tow and was suitably "enchanted" by the whole thing. I grew up on Disney Princesses. Cinderella, and Snow White dancing and singing across the screen before me. I loved the way they moved, the way they sounded and most of all the promise of meeting that Prince Charming and having that happily ever after. This movie starts out in a similar way. Everything is cartoony, with the beautiful young girl singing with her animal friends. Magic and mayhem cause her to be plucked from her world and thrown, well, into ours.

What happens in the real world to a girl brimming with song and dance and a natural affinity for people and animals? Plenty is the answer. This film is uplifting, and fun. There is some fantastic funny parts with that classic American slapstick style. There is the classic baddie and the fight for what is right. For me the best parts were the big song and dance numbers in the real world. They came together so naturally. Disney really thought about how this was going to work, especially with the type of animal friends Giselle would have access to in New York City.

I think this was the first movie I ever saw Amy Adams in (though she had apparently done a lot of TV prior to this release). She was brilliant though and I love that they picked her for the Muppet Movie after this too. She has a great singing voice, good timing and can pull that dreamy love-sick look required of all Disney Princesses. Patrick Dempsey does what he does best. I'm not sure he can act, it could well be just him on the screen saying some lines. In any case most agree he is McDreamy (or something? Don't shoot me I don't really watch Grey's). Timothy Spall and James Marsden have a great time, providing many laughs too. A great fantasy romp.
