Once again symantec have brought us their annual update to their original security software package Norton Antivirus, now this time I found myself asking surely there can't be any more features they can add to the package, well I was wrong. They have improved the Control Center so that you can choose how basic or complex you want your settings screen to be, it also has the latest incarnation of both SONAR - the real-time heuristic scanning system, and Insight - the file download scanning tool.
Once again the install is super fast, and activation takes no time at all. And with Symantec's wonderful pulse update system you won't have to wait for those long update downloads that you used to in the past (as long as you are permanently connected to the internet).
On to the scanning system and reliability. Once again I pulled out my CD of 3000 odd viruses, trojans and malware and let it rip. It managed to once again pick up around 3053 that's a 99.3% accuracy rating, not bad when you consider the CD had a few old viruses that are probably not even in the wild anymore.
So this is once again another winning product from Symantec
