I'm not a huge wine fan but when I had my second baby shower at Soljans Winery in Kumeu (A true westie here) they were having a big wine sale and I couldn't resist so I bought a bottle of this to open once my baby had been born.
I managed to open it about 6 weeks after I had my son. It was delicious! I have found my new favourite wine in bubbly. It was a very good price too at just $15.50 a bottle. The wine itself is nice and sweet with flavours of apple, peach and tropical fruits. There is also a Rose version which is delicious too.
The wine is produced using Muscat grapes grown in Gisborne and smells just as good as it tastes. The low alcohol (8%) means you can drink quite a bit without feeling any ill effects. This is definitely a wine I will be buying again.

There is perhaps no fruit more quintessential to New Zealand that the Feijoa.
These green grenades of flavour grow so well that during the New Zealand autumn they will choke your lawnmower if you can't eat them fast enough. The mower will release a sweet, fruity, almost intoxicating aroma making you want to kick back, relax and enjoy the last of the summer sun (so stay focused).
