Done a bit of hunting in my day. I'm no stranger to a bolt action, a backpack, a day's hiking each way, and prey in my scope. But the one thing I have never been brave, or stupid, enough to try is taking on wild pigs by hand - with or without dogs to assist.

This book has some amazing stories in it, some that are obviously being told from the heart, and some that are just typical kiwi anecdotes to be taken with a grain of salt. Strangest of all is to find poetry in here as well, something "typical hard-man kiwi bush blokes" aren't exactly famous for. Never the less, the poems give some amazing insights into the heart and soul of those whose passion, hobby or career revolve around "going bush" and hunting.

Summary: An amazing insight into an otherwise unexpected side of the Bush Blokes, their families and friends, and the lifestyle that goes with it all. The cover proudly claims to be aimed at "Young Hunters", and I think that this book will encourage most, deter some, but provoke thought in all who read it, of any age.

Product reviews for listing 3047: Geronimo Stilton - The Haunted Castle -  Author: Geronimo Stilton

Product image for Geronimo Stilton - The Haunted CastleI was just minding my business at home when I got a telephone call. It was my uncle Samuel S. Stingysnout, inviting the whole Stilton family to creepy, faraway Penny Pincher Castle for a big surprise.

Moldy mozzarella - I'm not much of a travelling mouse, and I hate surprises. But Thea, Trap, and Benjamin were going, so I couldn't say no. I could tell this was going to be one super-spooky trip!
