Canvas: Reflections product reviews

Paint from a new perspective! In Canvas: Reflections, the artistic puzzle has a new layer -- Mirror Cards! These reversible cards add deeper strategy, and also give you increased flexibility to string together combinations of Elements. Additionally, the new board offers a wider selection of Art Cards that allows you to better plan ahead and presents more choices even when running low on Inspiration Tokens.

Also features:
Gold Bonus Ribbons - Grab a Gold Bonus Ribbon for lining up a specific Element next to a Gold Bonus icon.

New Scoring Cards for puzzling new challenges and added replayability.

Having thoroughly enjoyed the first Canvas game, it was an easy answer when Kickstarter wanted to know if I wanted to back its expansion, Reflections. Do note, the base game is required to be able to play this addition. Gameplay remains as the original, you are aiming to create three paintings and score as many ribbons as you can, for each one. Each turn you either select a card or present a painting (must be three cards, exactly and must be done if you have five cards in hand). If it is the far left card, it is free, the others you must be able place down one of your tokens on to 'buy' one further down the track.

This edition introduced cards which can be flipped! I thought this was a really neat change and you could see it was very well planned as each card has an image, so they had to plan carefully so that when flipped they could have an image on the other side that fit the picture perfectly (for example, on one side it is an Easter bunny emerging from an egg, the other side is a small dragon atop an egg). Because these cards flip, the colour swatches can change too, but this is a also shown on the card, so you can see without having to pick it up, what colours it can cover. It does introduce a hard playing mat, which can take you from four cards to choose from to eight - not necessarily a bad thing but does make the original mat a little obsolete. This game also introduces more ways to score.

A great addition to an already great game.

Product reviews for listing 8819: Kingdomino
Developed by Blue Orange Games

Product image for KingdominoKingdomino is a 2 to 4 player strategy game that plays like dominoes with a kingdom-building twist.

Each turn you will connect a new domino to your existing kingdom, making sure that at least one of its sides connects to a matching element already in play.

Make sure to include dominoes with crowns on them, because at the end of the game you will score points equal to the total number of matching elements multiplied by the number of crowns.
