I enjoyed Dominoes when I was a young child, until I discovered bigger and more complex games. After all, there isn't a huge amount of strategy needed for playing the game... When I saw this, whilst trawling a board game website, and it just so happened to be on special, I figured it wouldn't be a huge financial loss if I didn't enjoy it and the kids were really into playing domino games for homeschooling, so I knew that it would get used. Unlike traditional dominoes, Bendominos are curved, leading to some pretty neat, wavy lines laid out on the table. A downside to the shape, is that you cannot branch off from it like you would a traditional domino with a double number.
What I do like about this game, is that it adds a degree of difficulty not seen in the traditional version. A key rule is that the dominoes aren't allowed to overlap, so if your number matches but would have it coming back over itself, then you're out of luck and have to hope the number becomes available again later. This has led to a few frustrated moments, especially when it is your last tile, but not so frustrating as it to regulate this to the never again pile. They come in a sturdy tin with a plastic inset, which holds the tiles nicely. My only wish would have been for more tiles (it only goes to the number six), for a longer game, but otherwise it is a fine enough little time filler.
