Inspector Gadget product reviews

During a daring rescue attempt, John Brown (Matthew Broderick), a naïve and clueless security guard, experiences the wrath of the evil Dr Claw (Rupert Everett) and is left clinging to life. Jumping at the chance to put her robotics expertise to the test, the brilliant Dr Brenda Bradford (Joely Fischer) transforms him into Inspector Gadget - the ultimate crime-fighting tool! And Gadget is going to need every techno-trick up his cyber-sleeve to defeat the ruthless Claw - before Claw reduces our hero to spare parts and wreaks havoc on the world!

Nonstop action, seamless special effects and a gazillion gizmos make Inspector Gadget a hilarious techno-thrill ride the whole family will watch over and over.

It's been a few years since I watched this last, but the kids wanted to watch a movie with me last night and after a lot of umming ad ahhing I ended up picking this for us to watch, remembering it as a fun, corny movie that we could all enjoy. The movie starts off on a daydream and I had to explain it a little bit to my youngest, but once underway in the 'real world' the kids started to really get into this movie and begin to laugh.

The plot isn't anything fabulous or new, there wasn't anything in it to really make me interested or entertained at my age but the kids liked it and they were curious to see how things would go and if Inspector Gadget could save the day in the end or not. There was a lot of corny moments throughout this and a few moments that certainly went over my head when I was an eleven year old but now have me going "oh dear lord!". The acting was sub par, though I do love Rupert Everett, and thought he was the best acting wise, and there are a few well known names, it was just too corny for their acting abilities.

The kids did enjoy it but none of us are in a rush to watch it again.
