I was very excited to be able to receive the book "Shoes from Grandpa" to read to my son and review. As soon as the book arrived my son wanted to sit down and read it. I do have to say that this book was definitely not my favorite. For some reason I found the story quite different from what I thought it would be like from looking at the cover and also from reading the little blurb about the story on the back of the book.
This story is written in the same style and tune as the song, "I know an old lady who swallowed a fly..." and my personal opinion was that it didn't really work very well and overall I did not really enjoy reading this book to my son. On the other hand, my son seemed to really enjoy it and as it is a children's book his was the most important opinion to get. And while I didn't really enjoy reading this book to him, he seemed to approve of it and he even kept asking for me to read his 'new book'.
Overall I would give this book an 'ok' rating as even though my son did seem to enjoy reading it, I didn't really like reading it to him.
