When Tim Ellison finds a cheap room to rent in the perfect location in Sydney it looks like a huge stroke of luck. In fact the room comes with a condition, and the owner of the house, the mysterious Anna London, is unfriendly and withdrawn.
When strange and terrifying things start happening in the house at night, Tim wonders if taking the room is a mistake. But then his feelings for Anna start to change, and when her past comes back with a vengeance, Tim is caught right in the middle of it. A thrilling, rollercoaster of a story - read it with the lights on!

I like reading a variety of books, thrillers and romance and drama, well anything with a good story. I read the back cover and thought this sounds like it would be a good read as I was wanting to know what was happening at nights that had the characters all worked up.
It was obvious from the beginning that something was no quite right with the situation, you were supposed to think that Anna was weird as there was no other obvious explanation for what was happening. I was turning the pages and thinking that I have to know what was happening and why. When I finally got to find out why and who I was most surprised as I never saw that happening.
I would recommend this book for others but make sure that you don't read it late at night and that if you are scared by shadows then don't even start this book.

In this graphic adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe's works, the celebrated narrative poem The Raven and several of his short stories are brought to life by Pete Katz's superbly dark illustrations. Poe was a master of Gothic fiction, and the genre's core themes of horror, death and romance feature strongly in this collection, which includes The Raven, The Fall of the House of Usher, The Masque of the Red Death, The Black Cat, The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether.
