A lonely ghost finds an unexpected friend in this fantastically atmospheric story which marks the debut of an exciting new picture book talent.
Night after night, Tobias the ghost hangs around the empty house where he lives, longing for something interesting to happen. That is, until one day, a girl named Eliza moves in with her family...
Armed with his grandad's book of spells, Tobias starts to play tricks on Eliza, but has he met his match in this feisty little girl?
Tobias might just be in for a few surprises himself... not to mention finding an amazing new friend!
A delightfully energetic book, full of fun!

During the recent school holidays we went to Paper Plus who had a table of clearance books for $2. Among those books was this one, I wasn't really sure about it as I had never heard of it before and I usually buy books I have heard about so I know whether they are good or not. However the character was called Tobias and that is my son's uncles name so we decided to buy it for that factor.
The book has beautiful illustrations they are almost magical pictures with spooky ghostly images on quite dark backgrounds. The images really stand out and despite the darkness of the backgrounds the images really pop and are quite beautiful really. I think they are done really well so you can get the sense of the ghosts popping out from the Ghost Book and the spells occuring.
Tobias is a lonely ghost with just him and his grandad in the house that no one ever comes to anymore. You feel quite sorry for him but then Eliza moves in and he sets to work to try and scare her. Things don't really work out how he thought they would but in the end he makes a new friend in Eliza and they make a promise to never scare each other again. A really nice story with a really happy ending for the lonely ghost.
