I was really excited to be trying the BBQ rub, and even though we are still in winter, surprisingly enough we were blessed with a wonderful sunny day perfect for a BBQ, and as luck would have it we also had lamb chops aplenty in the freezer. So why not pull out some lamb chops and dust off the BBQ.
Like the other products we have tried, the packaging is simple yet classy and easy to open and use without going overboard. I must confess I wasnt overly sure of the smell on this one. It didn't excite me or make my tummy rumble in anticipation. And once rubbed into the meat and tossed on to the BBQ I actually was not fond of the smell it created when cooking. We also used it rubbed on a roast lamb another day, and the smell through out the house during cooking was not a pleasant one. BUT...the end results were the complete opposite of the smell.
The rub creates a gorgeous coating on the lamb while the flavours infuse right down to the bone. And a simple lamb meat is turned into a full of flavour truly amazing experience. Crunchy coating, followed by tender flavoursome meat with a wonderful smokey taste. So when the weather isnt worthy of a BBQ you can still create that BBQ flavour right there in your kitchen oven.
This is a really great product and as an added bonus a little goes a long way. But we now can't pull out a lamb cut without pulling out Sid's smokey bbq rub aswell.
