I buy this sauce reguarly at the supermarket, I find that it works really well and is always a crowd favourite in the home. its great when you find a product that you know the whole family likes and never gets left in the fridge uneaten. My 6 year old son, always asks for more when I make pasta using this sauce and its great to as I can add frozen mixed veges or broccoli to it and he doesnt mind, he will still eat it all up. when you find that one sauce which is tasty and value for money you always need to stick to it, I have tried others but found they were not very tasty and tasted like brought products but this is creamy and just delicious. it great with mince also, I added this to spaghetti bol the other night which also worked a treat, as normally I would just have it with pasta and veges, but the mince was really yummy with it and happy son once again which is always great. a friend of mine tried it with chicken and mash and said it was really yummy as a sauce for the chicken for a quick and easy dish
When we first saw this sauce out in the shops we weren't too sure about it but I managed to convince my husband to get it one week and it is now a regular in our house when on special.
This sauce has a really nice taste and there is a great amount in the bottle, it feeds us as a family of five, or when needed, six people. If I throw in a can of chopped tomatoes it adds a nice flavour to the sauce and we are then able to feed a total of ten people. The sauce is really nice, though it did take a couple of meals to get used to the ricotta I now really enjoy it.
I have used this in a pasta bake with cheese on top, a potato back with cheese on top (can you tell I like my cheese?
). Most recently I used it in a potato and sausage casserole, thrown all in a crock pot together, along with onion, garlic, some veges, herbs and chopped tomatoes, the end result was a delicious meal that had my guest requesting the name of the sauce that I had used.
A really nice sauce that I keep on buying, I'm hooked.
I have been so fussy with what I use to make my sons food since he started on solids, I wanted him to have healthy food and as natural as possible which is harder than I thought unless you make everything from scratch. The thing that shocked me the most was that most of the jarred pasta sauces I found had flavour enhancer in them which I really wanted to avoid.
So on my hunt reading the back of jars I found this sauce by Leggos which does not have any flavour enhancer in it so it became the sauce I used when making pasta for my son. Now we all use this sauce as it is just so nice. You can actually see the ricotta in it and it is so rich a flavour and has a lovely creamy texture that it is nice enough to have just on it's own with pasta. The jars are a great size too so you can make a pasta dish for the whole family.
I like to make a chicken pasta bake with this, although we have used it in a lasagne and my son has his with mince and spaghetti noodles so it is pretty versatile. Still not as natural as if I made a home made sauce myself which I do from time to time but a great sauce for me to grab to make a quick meal for the whole family.
